Easter Blooms

Delirious weather for the past 4 days and we've been busy.Everything is bursting out and ready to bloom- magnolias, forsythia, daffodils and one red maple even has small green leaves unfurling. Yesterday we switched the hive bodies- exchanging the full top for the empty bottom which is now on top. Everything was very thick with propolis and separating the two hive bodies was difficult. We also had to scrape the top of the bottom hive which had comb and some brood being built. The top wouldn't close with it on. All this took time and the bees quite upset at having their house taken apart, buzzed angrily. Perry got stung; I didn't because I was wearing a veil- think we'll buy another veil.
Today (Easter Sunday) I planted spinach, lettuce and carrots. No sign of the peas planted two weeks ago so I planted some more.
Another sign of spring; the frogs are once again visible in the frog pond. We hear the peepers but hey are very hard to see (or photograph).
